TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Production Control Manager.

The Manufacturing Production Control Manager is responsible for leading TRD's production scheduling, machine operations, and maintenance coordination to support both racing and commercial manufacturing operations. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient use of TRD's advanced machining and automation resources while driving operational excellence through data-driven decision making and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the TRD Production Control organization responsible for managing production scheduling, CNC machine operations, and maintenance across TRD's race and commercial manufacturing facilities.
  • Oversee the daily operations of production control schedulers, CNC machine maintenance technicians, machine operators, and their respective supervisors to ensure optimal efficiency and alignment with TRD manufacturing goals.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed production schedules ensuring timely delivery of race and commercial engine components to meet program requirements.
  • Manage TRD's ERP system for all manufactured components, including routing accuracy, order and delivery date confirmation, and ongoing data maintenance to ensure system integrity and production traceability.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and planning departments to balance production priorities, resolve capacity constraints, and ensure alignment between material availability and machining schedules.
  • Lead and oversee the daily and long-term scheduling for TRD's manual work centers including Quality Control, Sub-Assembly, and Debur, ensuring efficient workflow and resource utilization.
  • Monitor and manage TRD's 17 high-speed 5-axis CNC machines and associated robotic automation systems to ensure maximum operational efficiency and machine uptime.
  • Oversee OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) metrics and implement continuous improvement actions to increase equipment utilization, throughput, and manufacturing performance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules, reducing downtime and improving machine reliability.
  • Lead the production control team in implementing process improvements, lean manufacturing initiatives, and efficiency projects across the operation.
  • Ensure that safety, quality, and production goals are achieved daily through disciplined execution and adherence to TRD's operational standards.
  • Provide strong leadership and development to team members, including supervisors, by establishing clear expectations, coaching performance, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Report key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to senior leadership, identifying opportunities for optimization in scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow design.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making activities to support TRD's long-term manufacturing capacity and technology development goals.
  • Ensure compliance with Toyota policies, manufacturing standards, and ethical business practices across all production control activities.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related technical field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in production control, manufacturing operations, or related field, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience managing production schedules, capacity planning, and ERP/MRP system administration within a high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in CNC machining operations, including understanding of 4-axis and 5-axis machining, tooling, and robotic automation systems.
  • Experience with OEE tracking and performance analysis tools, and the ability to lead process improvement initiatives based on metric-driven decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional coordination between scheduling, maintenance, and manufacturing operations.
  • Hands-on understanding of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methods, and shop floor optimization strategies.
Physical requirements:
  • Ability to lift 20lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including time spent on the production floor overseeing operations.
Bonus if you have:
  • Detailed knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) for production scheduling, work order management, and routing maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience developing high-performing production and technical teams.
  • Technical understanding of CNC machine operation, control systems, and robotic integration in automated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in implementing and tracking OEE, TPM, and other manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing resource allocation, machine capacity management, and throughput optimization.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Toyota Production System (TPS) practices.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, and supply chain departments.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Expert level skills with Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools used for performance reporting and planning.

The annual base salary range for this position is $128,300.00 - $222,300.00.
