Job description

As the Associate Toy Designer for our Preschool line, you will design and develop innovative, high-quality toys, figures, and playsets for our youngest fans! Combining creative ideation with a deep appreciation for early childhood play patterns, you will turn beloved characters into compelling, safe, and engaging physical toys. You will support the entire design process from initial concept to final production. Come join one of the world's biggest toy-making companies and help us shape the future of play!
What You Will Do:
  • Participate in the entire life cycle of product development by generating innovative preschool toy concepts, leading initial ideation, executing prototypes, and turning over final packages to development teams
  • Champion high-quality designs that strictly adhere to target costs, strict age-graded QA/QC requirements, and the overarching strategic goals of the product line
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with brand management, engineering, packaging, and licensors to create cohesive products that perfectly fit the brand and meet strict safety and licensor guidelines
  • Attend brand and licensing brainstorming meetings to gather critical design information, build consensus, and successfully present concepts to internal and external teams
  • Deliver precise product turnover specifications, document specification changes for licensor approval, and provide actionable feedback on illustrative turns, sculpts, paint masters, and samples
  • Work closely with global manufacturing teams and brand management to proactively resolve development issues and ensure smooth transitions from concept to mass production

  • 1-3 years of experience in product design, hard goods, or plastic toy development
  • 1-3 years of experience collaborating with overseas manufacturing partners (Asia preferred), demonstrating a foundational knowledge of materials and multiple manufacturing processes
  • Genuine passion for the preschool toy category, early childhood play patterns, and aesthetics, coupled with a deep understanding of current industry trends and the competitive marketplace
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) alongside standard computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite
  • Exceptional visual, verbal, and written communication skills with a highly adaptable mindset to seamlessly manage multiple shifting priorities and strict deadlines
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach combined with strong problem-solving skills, critical-thinking abilities, and a highly proactive mentality

Nice To Have:
