Job description

Job Title: Tow Supervisor.
Department: Ewing - Towing.
Reports to: Towing Manager.
FLSA Status: Exempt.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Tow Supervisor to oversee tow truck operators and office personnel, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant towing operations. This role involves managing schedules, supervising staff, maintaining equipment, and supporting customer service. The Tow Supervisor plays a critical role in enforcing company standards, safety regulations, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support 20–80 towing department staff and lot attendants, including scheduling, performance reviews, coaching, and discipline.
  • Manage tow truck fleet, equipment readiness, and inventory controls.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships and resolve complaints or operational issues.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and onboarding tow truck operators and lot attendants.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, towing laws, and company policies.
  • Monitor and assist with payroll, timecards, and administrative tasks.
  • Respond to and investigate accidents, claims, and property damage incidents.
  • Fill in for office staff or site managers as needed.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • 3+ years of towing industry experience, including operational and safety knowledge.
  • Towing certifications preferred; OSHA 10 or 30, and forklift certification a plus.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, towing systems, and basic computer functions.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local towing regulations; ability to learn DOT and NVDOT rules.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Must occasionally maneuver in awkward positions.
 
Work Environment:
  • Outdoor lot and office environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels; fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
