A tour photographer usually works on a contract or freelance basis in the entertainment or music industry to capture photographs of touring bands and musicians. As a tour photographer, you may attend gigs, performances, shows, and concerts to take photos. Your responsibilities also include analyzing picture opportunities to get the best angle, using artificial or natural light to improve the subject’s appearance, maintaining a digital portfolio, and using software to enhance photos. Other duties include maintaining your camera, keeping a log of pictures on a flash drive or other storage device, and using tools to ensure commercial-quality photographs.
