Job description

Overview
The Pictsweet Company in Monte Alto, TX is recruiting for an Accounting Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be expected to supervise and coordinate activities in calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records.
Responsibilities
  • Compiles composite reports from individual reports of subordinates required by management or government agencies.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Adjusts errors.
  • Enter pest application data into CDMS program.
  • Performs Cost Accounting, Grower Payables and PKMS (Bio-Terrorism) data entry.
  • Prepares Quarterly Sales Tax reports.
  • Responsible for Month-end and Year-end reports.
  • Assists in the budgeting process.
  • Maintains facility's leases and/or contracts.
  • Maintains seed inventory and reconciles seed accounts.
  • Maintains Petty Cash fund.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulations relating to food safety such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, and TOSHA. Complies with all other regulations and laws affecting the company (business law, trade secrets, personnel practices, etc.)
  • Serves as a member on the HACPP team. Attends required meetings and provides input on how to ensure an effective HACPP program.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures, which include SOPs, Employee Handbook, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Serves as a backup for Payroll/Accounts Payable Clerk when he/she is absent or unable to perform his/her duties.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
Prefer two years experience in Accounting/Bookkeeping. Must be computer literate.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or four (4) years of relevant experience. Must have a cumulated GPA of 3.0.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Must have knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues. The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information. Ability to organize and prioritize work, effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
