Primary Responsibilities:

  • Visual inspection of optical components using microscope, eye loop and high intensity lamp comparing to inspection standard.
  • Knowledge of measuring optical dimensions and angles using various inspection equipment, including autocollimator, micrometer, dial and or digital indicator, caliper and Zygo interferometer.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area daily utilizing visual workplace methodologies.
  • Completes inspection reports utilizing a customer drawing to check optical components according to customer specifications and requirements using established standard methods.
  • Maintains traceability of optical material by keeping lot items together or serialized.
  • Mechanical measurements using metrology such as micrometers, calipers height gage, drop gage, optical comparator and CMM.
  • Performs inspection for incoming, in process and final components as assigned.
  • Maintains QA records including incoming inspection, non-conforming material, returned goods, production inspection and others as required.
  • Ensures safety procedures adhered to and
  • Works within the Quality Management System to ensure processes are followed with respect to training, non-conforming products.
  • Supports and actively participates in the SQDC team meetings to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Works to improve QC Competency Level by getting training to increase skill levels on tasks.
