What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Torch Operator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Torch Operator, you need a solid understanding of metal cutting techniques, blueprint reading, and safety procedures, often supported by a high school diploma or technical training. Familiarity with oxy-fuel cutting equipment, plasma torches, and sometimes CNC systems is typically required, along with relevant safety certifications like OSHA. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and strong problem-solving skills help Torch Operators excel and work safely. These skills are crucial for ensuring precise cuts, maintaining workplace safety, and efficiently meeting production demands.

What are some common safety challenges faced by Torch Operators, and how can they be addressed on the job?

Torch Operators often work with high-temperature equipment and flammable materials, making safety a top concern. Common challenges include managing sparks, handling hot metal, and working in environments with limited ventilation. To address these issues, operators should consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as flame-resistant clothing, gloves, and face shields, and follow strict safety protocols. Regular safety training and clear communication with team members are also essential to minimize risks and ensure a safe work environment.

Job description

About Us
Torch Dental is building the operating system for dental practices. We help dental practices save time, reduce costs, and improve profitability through software that modernizes critical parts of their business.
Today, we offer two major products:
  • Torch Dental Marketplace - the Amazon of the dental supply chain, helping practices simplify purchasing and access transparent pricing across thousands of products.
  • Torch Revenue Cycle Management - an agentic AI insurance platform designed to solve one of the biggest pain points in dentistry: helping practices get paid faster and more accurately by insurance providers.

Torch is a profitable, rapidly growing company operating in a $100B+ healthcare market. We're backed by leading investors including Blackstone, Bessemer Venture Partners, and American Express Ventures, and we're entering an exciting new chapter as we scale both our marketplace and AI-powered revenue cycle platform.
We're a high-performance, close-knit team that enjoys solving real customer problems. We move quickly, take ownership, and maintain a strong bias for action. We believe great people do their best work when given meaningful responsibility, ambitious goals, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact. If you're excited about building category-defining products and helping healthcare providers thrive, we'd love to meet you.
Your Impact
As a Senior Account Executive, you will play a critical role in Torch's next phase of growth. You will own the full sales cycle, partnering directly with dental practices to understand their challenges, demonstrate business value, and help them adopt solutions that improve both operational efficiency and financial performance.
This is an opportunity to sell products that solve meaningful, everyday problems for customers. In addition to helping practices streamline purchasing through Torch Marketplace, you will be on the front lines of scaling Torch Revenue Cycle Management, our new AI-powered platform designed to help practices navigate insurance complexity, reduce administrative burden, and accelerate reimbursement.
Beyond consistently closing new business, you will be a leader within the sales organization. You'll help shape sales strategy, share best practices, raise performance standards, and contribute to the development of the team around you. We are looking for someone who wants more than quota attainment, someone who wants ownership, influence, and the opportunity to help build a category-leading company.
You'll have significant autonomy over your pipeline and success while working closely with company leadership to shape how we bring our products to market. For the right person, this role offers the opportunity to make an outsized impact on the trajectory of both the sales organization and the company as a whole.
Location
Austin, Texas
In-office Monday-Thursday, with the opportunity to work remotely on Fridays after successful ramp-up.
Schedule
Monday-Friday | 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM CST
What You'll Do
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
  • Generate, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of new business opportunities through a combination of outbound prospecting, relationship building, and sales execution.
  • Lead by example on outbound activity by making 50+ outbound calls per day once fully ramped
  • Comfortable balancing high-volume prospecting activity with discovery calls, product demos, negotiations, and closing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in high-growth or rapidly changing environments where adaptability, ownership, and resourcefulness are critical.
  • Conduct strategic discovery conversations to uncover customer challenges and business objectives
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and ROI-driven presentations
  • Build relationships with practice owners, office managers, and key decision-makers
  • Negotiate and close new business opportunities
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and customer records within Salesforce
  • Partner with leadership to refine sales processes, messaging, and go-to-market strategies
  • Mentor and share best practices with teammates to help elevate overall team performance
What We're Looking For
  • 3-5+ years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably within SaaS, healthcare technology, or tech-enabled services
  • Documented high quota attainment across most recent roles and closing net-new business
  • Strong experience with outbound prospecting and full-cycle sales
  • Demonstrated success selling to SMB and mid-market customers
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills
  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate value to executive-level decision-makers
  • Experience managing a complex sales process and maintaining accurate forecasts
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented
  • Thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
Why Torch Dental
  • Join a rapidly growing company disrupting a $100+ billion industry

  • Fast sales cycles that allow you to build momentum and drive meaningful results
  • High-visibility role with direct access to company leadership
  • In-office energy with a team that competes hard and celebrates wins together
  • Clear pathway into leadership and strategic sales roles as the organization scales
