Job description

Walser Toyota
Full-Time | Four-Day Work Week | $22.70/hour + incentives | $70,000 to $75,000 typical earnings | Two Weeks Paid Training, No Experience Required
Your start begins with a paid, two-week training program designed to get you the tools and product knowledge to hit the ground running. You'll receive hands-on coaching and mentorship from a service team that's built to develop people, not just fill shifts.
At Walser, we're committed to investing in our people. We foster a culture built on family, career growth, diversity, and opportunity.
About the Role
Walser Toyota, our flagship dealership, is hiring Service Advisors. Prior dealership or automotive experience is not required. We hire people who know how to take care of a customer, and we teach the technical side of the job.
Service Advisors are the primary point of contact for our guests from the moment they arrive in the drive. You will coordinate between customers and technicians, set clear expectations on timing and cost, and follow through until the vehicle is delivered.
Schedule and Pay
Your schedule: Four 10-hour days, with three days off every week. Saturdays are part of the rotation, as that is when many of our customers need us.
Your pay: $22.70 per hour, paid from your first day and throughout both weeks of training. Incentives are earned in addition to the hourly rate. At forty hours per week, the hourly rate alone is approximately $47,200 annually. Most of our advisors earn between $70,000 and $75,000, and top performers earn six figures.
Because the hourly rate is guaranteed, advisors are not paid on a draw. Incentives are added to your earnings rather than offset against them.
Training and Development
Everything technical about this role is something we teach. Over two paid weeks, and with continued coaching afterward, you will learn:
  • How to write a repair order from start to finish
  • Toyota product knowledge, including what is on the vehicle and why it matters
  • How long each service takes and what it costs, so you can set honest expectations
  • TruVideo and our estimate tools, so customers can see exactly what their vehicle needs
  • How to translate the technician's findings into language a guest understands

You will not be working the drive alone at the end of training. You will be supported by other advisors and by a team built to develop people.
Who We're Looking For
Many of our strongest advisors joined us from restaurants, retail, hospitality, call centers, and the trades. These are roles where you learn to read a person quickly, stay composed when things go sideways, and follow through on what you promised. Those qualities are difficult to teach, and they matter most in this job. The technical side we teach every advisor who joins us.
Not required: dealership experience, automotive knowledge, a technical background, or a college degree.
Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Our customers speak Spanish, Hmong, Somali, and other languages, and an advisor who can meet a guest in their own language makes a meaningful difference in that guest's experience. It is not required, but it is valued on this team.
What You'll Do
  • Greet customers as they arrive in the drive and set the tone for the entire visit
  • Perform vehicle walk-arounds, record mileage and VIN, move vehicles to technician bays, and write up repair orders
  • Set clear, honest expectations on service timing and cost
  • Serve as the liaison between technicians and customers, translating the shop's work into language a guest understands
  • Work alongside your service admin and technicians to generate hours and deliver an excellent guest experience
  • Prospect and sell dealership services, coordinate work in progress, and prepare for after-service delivery
  • Follow up with customers to build repeat business and earn the next visit
  • Use TruVideo and our estimate tools to show customers exactly what their vehicle needs
  • Stage vehicles and shuttle customers as needed
  • Uphold Walser's Core Values: Do The Right Thing, Lead By Example, Display Positive Energy, Be Open Minded

What You Bring
  • A drive to learn. Curiosity and coachability are the core requirements of this role.
  • The ability to work with urgency while remaining composed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and genuine care for the customer experience
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Beginner to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

What's In It For You
  • Guaranteed Hourly Pay - $22.70 per hour from day one, with incentives earned on top
  • Paid Training - a two-week paid program built to prepare you before you're on your own
  • Health Benefits - medical, dental, and vision through Blue Cross Blue Shield, plus HSA and FSA access and company-paid life insurance
  • 401(k), Paid Time Off, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Fertility and Adoption Assistance - up to $10,000
  • Paid Clothing Program - branded Walser apparel twice a year, on us
  • Career Growth - we promote from within, into service management, fixed ops, and leadership
  • Employee Discounts, referral bonuses, Employee Resource Groups, and Walser Foundation community involvement

A Note on the Work
This is a service drive. You will be on your feet, safety eyewear and slip-resistant hard-toed footwear are required in the shop, and some days move quickly. If that sounds like your kind of day, we encourage you to apply.
If you want to be the person a customer asks for by name, we want to hear from you.
