Inova Children's and Inova Schar Cancer Institute are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist to join our Inova Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children's health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia. This full‑time position is eligible for a sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance.

Your role includes:
  • Deliver coordinated, multispecialty care to patients with brain tumors and other neurologic oncologic conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric oncology care with a team that includes pediatric neurosurgery, radiation oncology, neuro‑radiology, clinical research, genetic counseling, pediatric palliative care, nutrition, and psychosocial support.
  • Participate in the inpatient care team.
  • Provide clinical teaching and in‑service education to medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Engage in pediatric oncology clinical research projects and studies, including translational efforts.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric neuro‑oncology care with a team that includes pediatric neurosurgery, radiation oncology, neuro‑radiology, clinical research, genetic counseling, pediatric palliative care, nutrition, and psychosocial support.

Our team includes 9 experienced Pediatric Hematology‑Oncology physicians and 9 advanced practice providers who diagnose, manage, and treat all forms of childhood cancers, blood disorders, and bone marrow failure syndromes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Hematology‑Oncology
  • Experience: Successful completion of pediatric residency program and successful completion of Pediatric Hematology‑Oncology fellowship.
  • Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start
  • Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third‑party payors and Ability to enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
  • Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
