Toolroom Machinist
Summary Job Description:
Humphrey Products Company, a Kalamazoo-based manufacturer of fluid control valves and precision control components used in industries ranging from medical devices and laboratory instrumentation to material handling and transportation. We currently have a Toolmaker opportunity in our Tool room Department. The initial training schedule will be Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am. to 4:00 pm., transitioning to a regular schedule of Tuesday-Friday, 6:00 am. to 4:00 pm.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires at least five years' experience in a toolroom environment and should include the following capabilities:
1. Reading blueprints and creating parts as defined from raw material.
2. Define the process steps required to complete products with minimal input from others.
3. Setup and operate typical toolroom equipment such as manual lathes, mills and grinders.
4. Select appropriate cutting tools and associated speeds and feeds based on materials, etc.
5. Determine and apply appropriate measuring equipment and gauges to verify work done.
6. Self motivated with solid decision making and problem solving skills to complete projects.
7. CNC lathe and mill experience, and CNC programming is a major plus.
8. Willing to work in a team-oriented environment.
Job Requirements:
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
