Job description

Ashtead Technology has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Tooling Technician to join our team in Houston. You'll play a critical role in ensuring our equipment is customer-ready by verifying every piece of tooling to be expertly prepared, tested, calibrated, clearly labelled, and safely packaged before it leaves our facility.
What you'll be doing:
  • Inspecting, testing, repairing, and preparing ROV tooling and rental equipment to ensure it's fully operational and ready for deployment.
  • Supporting the commissioning, development, and manufacture of new and innovative ROV tooling solutions.
  • Managing work orders, within Ashtead's ERP system.
  • Ensuring all rental equipment is clearly labelled, correctly identified, complete with spares, and packaged to meet transport and mobilisation requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate technical documentation, including manuals, checklists, spare kits, and testing procedures.
  • Providing hands-on technical support to customers, including fault reporting for missing or damaged equipment.
  • Assisting with mobilisations, site interface testing, and offshore support when required.

What experience you'll bring:
  • Demonstrable experience in a technician role undertaking repair, maintenance, integration, and testing of ROV Tooling equipment, preferably in a subsea environment
  • Extensive knowledge of ROV Tooling, Torque Tools, Valve Packs, Cutters, LAOT'S, IHPU'S
  • A qualification in Mechanical Engineering / other technical discipline and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulics/electrics, ability to read schematics including fault finding.
  • Ability to read and implement engineering drawings.
