Overview

QBE, LLC is seeking a Cyber Engineer - Security Tool Engineering/O&M to engineer, operate, maintain, and optimize cybersecurity technologies supporting NIH/OD-OIT.


This position is primarily remote with some TDY required.


Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise cybersecurity tools.
  • Perform routine operations and maintenance of security platforms.
  • Support upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and lifecycle management.
  • Integrate security technologies with enterprise systems and data sources.
  • Monitor tool health, performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate vendor support as necessary.
  • Develop scripts, integrations, and automation to improve security operations.
  • Maintain technical documentation, configuration baselines, and operating procedures.
  • Support security tool testing and implementation of new capabilities.
  • Coordinate with SOC, vulnerability management, cloud, and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, information systems, business, communications, or a related field, or an additional two or more years of relevant experience in place of the degree requirement.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience aligned to the responsibilities of this position.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining enterprise security technologies.
  • Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, authentication, and security concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical integrations.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation, Public Trust determination, or security clearance associated with the position.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, or related security platforms.
  • Experience with scripting and automation.
  • Experience supporting federal enterprise environments.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Ability to perform duties in an office, remote, or hybrid environment based on program requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $120,000.00 - $135,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (for remote opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, QBE invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
