Join a Leading Aerospace & Defense Organization
We are seeking a motivated Engineer Tool 1 to support a Tool Design organization in El Segundo, California. This is an exciting opportunity for recent engineering graduates and early-career professionals looking to contribute to advanced aerospace manufacturing programs.
In this role, you will support the design and development of production tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, machine attachments, and fabrication equipment used in aerospace manufacturing and assembly operations. You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams to develop innovative tooling solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, dies, machine attachments, and industrial equipment used in manufacturing and assembly operations.
Develop tooling concepts that support production, fabrication, and experimental projects.
Create and modify 3D CAD models, drawings, and design documentation.
Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams to ensure tooling solutions meet operational requirements.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
Support tooling projects from concept through implementation.
Assist with production readiness, manufacturing process improvements, and tooling optimization.
Participate in project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities.
Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing specifications.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another STEM-related field.
3-5 years of Experience in engineering, design, tooling, manufacturing, fabrication, or production environments.
Experience using Siemens NX, CATIA, or other 3D CAD software.
Understanding of blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
Experience coordinating projects, assignments, or engineering activities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments.
Experience designing or supporting aerospace tooling.
Experience using SAP or other manufacturing resource planning systems.
Experience supporting production assembly lines or manufacturing cost centers.
Familiarity with tooling development, fabrication processes, and manufacturing operations.
Exposure to aircraft, spacecraft, defense, or aerospace production programs.
