Job description

RISE Equipment Rental is the equipment division of J. Davis Inc., a family-owned organization providing construction, grading, supplemental maintenance, and industrial services to South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. With four divisions and five offices in the coastal and upstate regions of South Carolina, we are proud to offer superior services to the southeastern United States.
We are currently seeking a Tool Crib Attendant who will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining tools and small equipment. In this role, you'll manage inventory levels, coordinate repairs and maintenance, support the lay-down yard, and serve as a go-to resource for crews needing tools and equipment, all while ensuring top-notch safety and customer service.
Job Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the receipt, storage, issuance, and maintenance of tools and small equipment. Ensure tools are in good working condition, manage necessary repairs or replacements, and maintain accurate inventory records and optimal stock levels.
  • Assist with regular maintenance and repairs, assist with or subcontract complex tool repairs, and ensure all tools and equipment are maintained according to schedules. Perform periodic maintenance, including organizing the lay-down yard and small equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool usage, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels. Prepare reports as needed for management review.
  • Monitor processes to enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure the tool crib operates within budgetary constraints. Identify opportunities to improve tool crib operations, including inventory management practices and workflow processes.
  • Interact with customers to fulfill tool and equipment requests, address issues or concerns promptly and professionally, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all tools and small equipment are used and stored in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Partner with the Asset Specialist to determine equipment usage and utilization.
  • Assist with negotiating prices for new tool purchases and managing purchases of tools, PPE, and other materials. Receive and distribute incoming packages and materials for projects.
  • Assist with the delivery and pickup of J Davis Inc tools and small equipment as required
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial tools and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
