Position Summary
The tool crib attendant will be responsible for assisting the instructors to develop and maintain an inventory and checkout system of tools and supplies, assist students in obtaining required tools and supplies to complete assignments, and other duties as assigned by the Machinist Program Coordinator. This position is open to currently enrolled OTECH students. In order to provide an opportunity for multiple students to gain experience, employment as a tool crib attendant is limited to a maximum of 12 months. Employment may be terminated early in the event the student fails to maintain the academic standards for the college, or fails to maintain an active schedule. This position works under the direction of the Machinist Program Coordinator and supports the instructors/students of Manufacturing Technology programs.
Essential Functions
1. Maintain accountability of tools and supplies in tool crib; adhere to safety practices.
2. Promote the development of positive social skills among students through modeling appropriate behaviors.
3. The incumbent shall preform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Applicants must:
1. Be 17+ years old
2. Be computer literate
4. OTECH students with experience in a manufacturing and/or customer service environment will be given preference.
5. Spanish speaking proficiency desirable.
Physical Requirements:
1. Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 25 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
2. Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, etc.

WORKING HOURS: Monday-Thursday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
