We're seeking an experienced machine operator to join our dynamic team. Position Details:
  • Job Title: Toner/KM Operator
  • Department: Toner Digital Press
  • Location: Rochester Tech Park, 2332 Innovation Way, Bldg 4, Rochester, NY 14624 **Must have reliable transportation** 
  • Schedule: Full-time, B Shift, 2:30p - 11:00p Mon - Fri
    • Training Schedule: For cross training purposes, training will occur on both morning and evening shifts to benefit from the experience of our different operators 
  • Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour. Plus, receive an additional $0.50 per hour shift differential (B Shift). Final compensation is based on experience.
  • Job Summary: The Toner/KM Operator performs all phases of digital toner/km press production including setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to produce high-quality printed materials efficiently and accurately for our clients.
  • Manager/Supervisory Role: No
  • Reports To: Digital Press Manager
  • Duties/Expectations: While duties may vary from day to day, below is a list of general duties you can expect in this role.
    • Performs all phases of Toner/KM press operation for smooth job execution (without supervision)
    • Accurately sets up the press applying job ticket information, system calibration, color control, supplies/stock, etc.
    • Proficiently operates and monitors the equipment, enters data and consistently meets production standards
    • Routinely performs maintenance, repairs and cleaning following manufacturer guidelines, and maintains logs
    • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves production issues to minimize image quality defects and downtime
    • Prepares job proofs for customer approval (previewing, preparing, proofing, etc.)
    • Properly stages/loads/moves supplies, material and product; follows proper handling, PIT & hazardous waste procedures
    • Notifies management of impending file problems, supply needs, or other production / scheduling concerns
    • Interfaces with manufacturers technicians, management, account managers and fellow operators
    • Minimizes waste/rework/high-cost occurrences through quality control checks, and reports deficiencies
    • Completes general housekeeping, cleans up and keeps work area neat and orderly
    • Continuously work to develop skills / knowledge and complete all training required by the company
    • Be a team player, communicate clearly and respectfully and maintain a positive attitude
    • Be dependable, reliable, and consistently perform high quality work meeting company production standards
    • Create a safe and hazard free work environment; follow safety protocols and report any risks
    • Perform other duties as needed / assigned
    • Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures
What we are looking for:
  • Position Qualifications:
    • Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years' advanced machine operator experience is required. Experience as a Printing Machine Operator and/or digital press operator is highly preferred. Forklift experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge/Skills: Possesses knowledge of all machine operation phases, maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control with strong mechanical skills, an attention to detail and focus on quality, basic computer and problem-solving skills plus the ability to apply instructions to machine operation and communicate effectively is required. An understanding of printing operations and/or digital printing press functions is highly preferred. Familiarity with OSHA regulations is preferred.
    • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
    • Must be of legal working age and eligible to work in the U.S. 
  • Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
    • Works indoors in a temperature-controlled manufacturing facility and will be exposed to loud sounds, hazardous chemicals, and equipment on the production floor. Must have the ability to bend, lift and carry up to 25 lbs.; stand/walk on hard surfaces for extended periods; complete repetitive tasks; operate computers and/or machines (dexterity, bend, stretch, reach, climb, crouch, etc.); and communicate effectively. *Reasonable accommodations may be available upon request.
