Job description

Tommy’s Express Carwash

Team Member

Job Summary

The Tommy’s team member is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service to all guests, working to maintain the highest wash quality and cleanliness around the site, and actively working to grow membership at the wash. The team member cross-trains in all on-site positions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Processing and handling payments for washes at point of sale

·         Follow Tommy’s script at the window to promote club memberships and upsell wash packages

·         Assisting guests with setting up, maintaining, and all aspects of their membership

·         Full knowledge of all Tommy’s offerings and wash package features and upselling membership and wash packages

·         Performing hourly walkthroughs and reporting and working with leadership to immediately fix any issues observed

·         Performing maintenance and cleaning tasks as assigned

·         Following all opening, closing, and cleaning checklists

·         Adhering to all safety guidelines

·         Cross training in all positions (flight deck 1, flight deck 2, wash tech, loader and vacuum concierge – see below for individual position duties) and alternating working in all positions as assigned.

·         Other duties as assigned

Flight Deck 1

·         Engage with guests at window utilizing Tommy’s script

·         Process all point-of-sale transactions

·         Handles issues with accounts and license plate reader

·         Monitors all incoming traffic to ensure cars can safely pass through the wash (e.g. truck beds are empty, no loose straps, the height of vehicles, etc.) and communicates with loader and others

·         Prepares wiper bags

·         Watches as vehicles enter for potential rollbacks

·         Ensures vehicles are in neutral once they enter

·         Assists guests in loading if necessary

·         Promotes and sells wash memberships at the window

·         Actively upsells wash memberships and packages

·         Prebags wipers

 

Flight Deck 2

·         Remains at flight deck 2 station and continually has eyes down the tunnel

·         Monitors vehicles as they enter the tunnel

·         Monitors vehicles as they proceed through the tunnel

·         Acts to mitigate risk and increase safety within tunnel

·         Works to prevent rollbacks, collisions, and any other issues

·         Verifies vehicles are in neutral

 

Wash Tech

·         Monitors wash quality and makes adjustments as needed

·         Monitors detergent levels and refills as needed

·         Performs minor repairs if qualified and trained to do so

·         Maintains parts on hand

·         Makes sure that tools are organized

·         Performs hourly inspections

·         Checks to see if the equipment is operating properly

·         Cleans the

·         back-room mirror, walls, and all windows throughout wash

·         Becomes the loader when the stack is full

Loader

·         Guides guest on to belt with exaggerated hand motions and a welcoming smile

·         Directs guests on to belt in a safe manner and points to screen to signal when to go into neutral

·         Assists with bagging wipers 

 

Vacuum Concierge

·         Keep vacuum stalls clean and lot free of debris.

·         Engaging with guests by affirming the cleanliness of their vehicle, speaking with guests about their wash experience, and reporting any wash issues to wash tech and leadership.

·         Offering rewashes if a customer is not satisfied

·         Promoting Tommy Club (wash club memberships) and assisting guests with the signup process

·         Hanging up hoses and assisting guests with any issues or questions about vacuums

·         Assisting guests with using mat washers

·         Cleaning out vacuum filters, hoses, and exterior or vacuum canisters
