POSITION SUMMARY:
POSITION SUMMARY
The bartender is tasked with curating exceptional experiences for discerning guests, the bartender blends technical expertise, creativity, and impeccable service standards. The role demands a deep understanding of classic and contemporary mixology, superior interpersonal skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest level of professionalism in every interaction that matches the luxury standards of the hotel.
Key responsibilities include maintaining adhering to accurate inventory control procedures, blending batch and single-serve cocktails. The ability to adjust and/or replicate recipes (both written or verbal) and maintain consistency is critical. This position requires a strong "client first", foodservice background and a commitment to maintaining the high standards of Hotel Granduca.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Expertly prepare and present a wide range of cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, and other beverages according to hotel standards and guest preferences.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current beverage trends, cocktail recipes, and innovative presentation techniques.
  • Consistently ensure that all drinks are served elegantly, with appropriate garnishes and glassware, reflecting the prestige of the hotel.
  • Develop signature cocktails and seasonal specials in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure product quality.
  • Follow strict cash handling procedures, process payments accurately, and balance the cash register at the end of each shift.

Sanitation and Safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times, adhering to the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Comply with all licensing, health, and safety regulations, including responsible service of alcohol guidelines.

Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with all kitchen staff and servers.
  • Communicate effectively with back-of-house staff and servers as needed to ensure a seamless flow between kitchen and dining room.
  • Participate in pre-service meetings and briefings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience:
  • 2-3 years of experience in hotel, country club or fine dining environment.

Technical Skills:
  • Thorough knowledge in POS systems (i.e., Toast) to process guest orders and payments
  • Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits and mixology, including beverage "call names" and recipes
  • Familiarity with responsible alcohol service and food handling/safety procedures.

Personal Skills:
  • Ability to understand and give general instructions in standard situations.
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills, and communication skills in English (verbal and written). Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage and connect with a variety of guests.
  • May require shift work, overtime and/or on call duties. See under "Other."
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, guest-service approach.
  • Positive, professional demeanor and ability to work well in a team environment.

Physical Skills:
  • Stooping, standing, reaching, and frequent lifting of food/beverages
