The Opportunity
Our AGR Nashville Area is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Technician to join our team based in Antioch, TN.
Reporting to the AGR Area Manager, this EIC Controls Technician will operate and maintain natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment (including assigned electronic, electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical control systems, devices, and ancillary equipment gas turbines, generators, boilers, fuel gas compressors, and PLC & DCS control systems) in a manner which meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will also be required to perform tasks from other disciplines.
What You'll Do
  • Perform major maintenance functions and complex installations and repairs within your trade specialty, demonstrating expert technical skills and judgement
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment and system issues, applying a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Exercise independent judgement in selecting work methods and provide recommendations for process and equipment improvements
  • Plan and coordinate work for contract or maintenance crews, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Train and mentor less experienced technicians, sharing expertise and fostering skill development within the team
  • Lead or support the installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced compressor station equipment and pipeline facilities
  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair control system components, safety devices, and instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
  • Document all work performed, including maintenance records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure strict adherence to company and regulatory safety standards, including hazard identification and use of PPE
  • Participate in emergency repairs and support customer/client needs as required
  • Support environmental, community, and safety initiatives in alignment with TC Energy's policies and values

Minimum Qualifications
  • Journeyman ticket in a relevant trade, where applicable, or two years of vocational/technical training from a recognized institution with at least five years of related experience
  • Fully qualified and, where required, certified tradesperson
  • Ability to meet and maintain company-defined operator qualifications and technical tasks

Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and ability to provide a driver's abstract
  • Successful completion of pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Willingness to travel for temporary assignments, meetings, or training (up to 15% of work schedule)
  • Participation in on-call rotation and emergency support as required
