As our Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist focusing on Admissions, you will join a well-established hospital-employed group at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. This exceptional opportunity allows you to provide comprehensive patient care within a regional healthcare leader, consistently recognized as the #1 Best Regional Hospital in Chattanooga by U.S. News & World Report for 11 consecutive years (and TN's #4), and holding a consistent 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group.

Every day you will be at the forefront of patient care, primarily focusing on the efficient and thorough admission of adult inpatients. You will conduct initial assessments, formulate diagnostic plans, and initiate treatment for a diverse patient population, setting the crucial foundation for their hospital stay. This role offers an attractive 7 on / 7 off shifts (Tuesday to Monday, 11am - 11pm), providing a clear and predictable schedule. You will work in a highly supportive environment, free from Peds, OB, or Trauma cases, benefiting from a reasonable census and closed ICUs staffed by Intensivists, allowing you to concentrate your expertise where it's needed most.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist with a keen focus on admissions and a dedication to providing outstanding, quality patient care.

  • Performing comprehensive initial evaluations for all newly admitted adult inpatients.
  • Developing and initiating evidence-based diagnostic and treatment plans upon admission.
  • Ordering and interpreting necessary tests to quickly and accurately assess patient conditions.
  • Collaborating effectively with ED physicians, specialists, and admitting teams to streamline patient flow and care transitions.
  • Providing timely and clear communication to patients and their families regarding their admission status, initial diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of all admission processes and patient findings in the EMR system, Epic.
  • Adhering to all hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety protocols specific to the admission process.
  • Continuously staying abreast of the latest developments in internal medicine and hospitalist care to optimize admission protocols.
