Job description

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Engineers, Software Full Stack located in Bethesda, MD will implement and deploy complete systems which meet customer's requirements and are cloud native.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Independently develop Android applications from scratch using various architecture patterns and deploy them publicly and privately through Google Play Store.
  • Responsible for creating and managing EMM policies, troubleshooting Android device management issues, and maintaining EMM console to manage company owned devices.
  • Work with product managers to gather requirements, create roadmaps, and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Lead the development of the team's iOS and Android roadmap and ensure that it aligns with the company's overall business goals.
  • Write Unit tests, review code, prepare technical documentation and make sure that the code is compliant with the team's coding standards.
  • Clear understanding of various programmatic ad platforms, terms, and technologies.
  • Responsible to ensure performance and memory management of applications.
  • Work with other engineering teams to ensure that the applications are integrated with other systems.
  • Work with sales, marketing, and shipping teams to enhance the application as well as troubleshoot issues.
  • Contribute to the development of others through mentoring or in house workshops and learning sessions.

Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in:
  • (1) Developing Android apps using Java, Kotlin, Jetpack tools; developing architecture patterns including MVVM, MVP, and MVC; and writing unit tests.
  • (2) Creating and managing policies for Android devices using Android Enterprise Mobility Management APIs and configuring zero-touch enrollment for Android devices.
  • (3) Configuring Managed Play Store, setting up a Google Play Store account, and releasing apps via Play Store.
  • (4) Integrating and managing the Supply Side Platforms including Vistar, PubMatic, Publica, Google Ad Manager, Adomni, and Place Exchange using Google IMA SDK.
  • (5) Developing iOS applications using Swift and Objective C.
  • (6) Designing and developing advanced Android applications with a concentration on automotive infotainment systems. Must have experience with implementing Heads-Up Display (HUD) user interfaces, integrating telephony features, and enabling Bluetooth connectivity using protocols including HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, and MAP. Must have hands-on experience in ensuring compatibility and seamless performance with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay platforms.

Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science or related, and 1 year of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week. Wage Range: $153,830.50 to $164,000/year.
Candidate's pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
