Description
Training Leaders International (TLI) exists to strengthen the global church by sending teachers to equip and train local leaders. As an integral part of this mission, Expository Trainers provide leadership for pastoral training sites in partnership with local denominations and church leaders both in the United States and around the world.
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of faithful expository preaching, demonstrated effectiveness in training others, and a collaborative, team-oriented spirit. Candidates should possess strong cross-cultural competencies, a deep love for and commitment to the local church, and the perseverance required to navigate the challenges of ministry. This position requires the development and maintenance of a personal support network.
Responsibilities
  • Actively promote and advocate for the mission and vision of TLI.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to equip pastors and church leaders through in-person, modular courses.
  • Oversee training site operations, including communication with national partners, budget management, teaching team development, and program evaluation.
  • Mentor volunteer pastors and instructors to enhance their effectiveness as cross-cultural trainers.
  • Contribute to TLI's growth by helping to recruit new volunteers and staff through personal networks, seminary engagements, and church partnerships.
  • Engage in the global theological education community through collaboration, prayer, scholarly writing, conference participation, research support, and critical reflection on missiological issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned at times to support the President in executing the vision and strategic initiatives of TLI.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrates a mature and abiding faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Exemplifies the character qualifications of a local church elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
  • Has 10 years of vocational ministry experience.

  • Committed to the practice of expository preaching and skilled in teaching it within cross-cultural environments.
  • Holds a master's-level degree in Biblical Studies or Theology
