Job description

WebSphere Administrator with 8 plus years of experienceProvide consultation, documentation and guidance during infrastructure upgrades.

Provide support and consultation for disaster recovery exercises.

Perform monitoring assessment and develop monitoring/productivity tools to proactively manage and troubleshoot the infrastructure.

Interact with other teams, such as application code development teams or network team, to determine root cause of incidents and resolve them according to established Service Level Agreements.

Contribute to the professional development, training, and performance programs of members within the team, including documentation.

  • Experienced in Installation, configuration and tuning of WebSphere Application Servers in large scale environments
  • Experience in analyzing the various server logs and thread dumps to perform Root Cause Analysis
  • Manage and configure database connections, through Java Database connectivity (JDBC) data-sources, and JDBC pools
  • Experienced in integrating with WebSphere MQ using JMS
  • Configure and deploy application code sets in various formats including EAR, WAR, and JAR files
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and support WebSphere Deployments via Client’s deployment automation tool using shell, jacl, jython, wsadmin scripting skills.
  • Networking/TCP/IP knowledge required
  • Experience with WebSphere 7 and 8 required
  • Experience integrating with external authentication products desired
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as BAC, Tivoli, Splunk desired
