Job description

Position Overview: The Title Searcher is responsible for searching real estate records and compiling a report showing the chain of title, taxes, mortgages, judgments, and other miscellaneous documents for both commercial and residential properties in Minnesota and possibly other states. The ideal candidate will also assist with special projects, as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Search both commercial and residential properties using online and county resources.
  • Analyze and evaluate records relating to commercial and residential real estate properties.
  • Examine lot books, geographic and general indices, and assessor's rolls to compile lists of transactions.
  • Assess documents such as deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, and plats/maps in determining required document copies.
  • Determine ownership, encumbrances, and verify legal descriptions of property.
  • Analyze chain of title and prepare reports outlining title-related matters.
  • Prepare property reports for title examiners.
  • Travel to various county recorder’s offices, as needed.
Qualifications
  • College degree preferred
  • Minnesota Title Producers license (can be obtained after hire).
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with online searching systems, MS Office and PDF readers/writers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
