Mortgage Industry Experience of at least 2 Year****Required to be Bi-lingual English/Portuguese
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor / Loan Officer Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the mortgage industry, strong customer service skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple loan files and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 
Required Qualifications
 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the mortgage industry – REQUIRED
  • Bilingual in English and Portuguese – REQUIRED
  • Strong knowledge of the mortgage loan process and required documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple loan files simultaneously
  • Excellent follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
 
Primary Responsibilities
 
  • Support Loan Officers throughout the mortgage origination and pre-approval process.
  • Communicate directly with borrowers to request, collect, and follow up on all required documentation.
  • Order and follow up on third-party services and reports, including credit reports, appraisals, preliminary title reports, condo questionnaires, insurance documentation, and other items required for loan processing.
  • Review incoming documentation for completeness and properly organize borrower and loan files.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic loan records and ensure documentation is uploaded and categorized appropriately.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to basic borrower questions and provide updates throughout the loan process.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up on outstanding conditions, documentation, and third-party items until completion.
  • Communicate effectively with Loan Officers, borrowers, real estate professionals, title companies, insurance agents, and other parties involved in the transaction.
  • Provide timely updates regarding loan status, outstanding items, deadlines, and potential issues.
  • Participate in pipeline meetings and assist Loan Officers in maintaining accurate and up-to-date loan pipelines.
  • Proactively identify missing information or potential delays and communicate them to the appropriate team members.
  • Help ensure loan files progress efficiently from initial application through processing and toward closing.
