Title I Instructional Assistant to join the team at Sinking Springs Elementary School. In this role, the Title I Instructional Assistant will collaborate closely with teachers to provide targeted instructional support in small-group or one-on-one settings, with a focus on reading and math interventions for students eligible for Title I services. 5.5 Hours Per Day186 Days Per YearPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Please note: Duties and responsibilities for this position will vary depending on the grade to which the position is assigned, and if the position supports an entire classroom, a small group of students, or provides one-on-one assistance to a student.
- Provide assistance to Title I students in developing reading and math strategies, as assigned.
- Assist teachers and certified reading specialist in monitoring student progress.
- Assist the teacher with maintenance of an environment and climate conductive to learning.
- Develop materials in accordance with the directions of the reading specialist.
- Maintain inventory of Title I materials, including the duplication of appropriate resources.
- Help maintain Title I records.
- Assist the Reading Specialist/Classroom Teacher in providing individual drill and practice as needed.
- Help maintain a positive classroom climate, which fosters understanding, respect, and self-esteem.
- Be alert for problem areas and communicate potential problems to the teacher.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required, and at least one of the following: an associate's degree, two years of post-secondary education or satisfactorily passed the CAPE Test
- Must demonstrate the ability to be organized and have good communication skills
- Must have (or willing to obtain) current PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks
Hourly Rate:$14.00-$19.15*Step placement shall be based on years of service recognized by employer.
