Job description

COORDINATOR OF SACRED MUSIC

St. Paul Parish is seeking a collaborative, Christ-centered missionary disciple to serve as part-time Coordinator of Sacred Music.
Ministry responsibilities include
  • selecting and preparing sacred music based on the liturgical rubrics and norms of the Catholic Church
  • coordinating, encouraging, and forming volunteer accompanists and cantors
  • directing the choir for rehearsals, weekend liturgies, and Holy Days
  • coordinating music for funerals and weddings
  • attending Diocesan formation/training opportunities
  • working in close collaboration with the Pastor to encourage a deepening understanding of Eucharistic worship for the parish community.
The right candidate will
  • have piano and or organ accompaniment and song leading proficiency
  • lead and conduct a choir
  • know and understand the role of music within the Holy Mass
  • be familiar with a variety of liturgical resources and work within a set budget
  • be familiar with the Breaking Bread hymnal and its online portal
  • collaboratively work with the Pastor, staff team, and Diocesan leaders
  • communicate regularly with volunteers
