Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quick Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance services on customer vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid inspections. This role requires efficiency, accuracy, and a commitment to delivering quality work in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance & Service
  • Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Drain oil from the crankcase and refill with the required amount and type of oil
  • Replace oil and air filters
  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary
  • Check tire pressure and add air as needed
  • Perform tire repairs and rotations as necessary
  • Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants
  • Document all work performed on the repair order accurately

Communication & Quality
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately
  • Ensure that customers' vehicles are kept clean throughout the service process and notify Service Advisors immediately of anything that changes the appearance or condition of the vehicle
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by the Service Manager

Safety & Compliance
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Maintain and account for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning them to the proper location and in the same condition as received
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know requirements
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management
  • Keep the shop area neat and clean at all times

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and documentation
  • Sound judgment and attention to detail

WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a physically demanding position. Most work is performed standing or walking. The technician will be required to wear a uniform daily. As this role is located in an automobile dealership, the individual may be exposed to elements associated with vehicle repair, painting, and maintenance.
