Job Description

Purpose: Support the design, estimating, and execution of civil scopes for solar andย 
industrial projects. Collaborate with preconstruction, engineering design, and fieldย 
operations assuring constructible, cost-effective solutions that meet project requirementsย 
and timelines.ย 

What You'll Do:ย ย 
Support civil preliminary analysis and estimating.ย 
Assist with grading heat maps and conceptual site optimization.ย 
Support pricing by gathering vendor and subcontractor quotes.ย 
Assist with review and validation of subcontractor proposals.ย 
Assist in preparation of bid packages and project proposals.ย 
Support civil design internally and externally, including grading, drainage, accessย 
roads, and site development layouts.ย 
Review drawings and project documentationย ย 
Review geotechnical reports and incorporate findings into designย 
recommendations.ย 
Assist in development of grading plans, cut/fill evaluations, andย 
constructability reviews.ย 
Review customer specificationsย 
Assist with coordination of RFIs and submittalsย 
Review material specificationsย 
Generate material takeoffsย 
Support civil construction activities.ย 
Assist with generation and review of CAD models and drawings usingย 
AutoCAD and Civil 3D.ย 
Perform civil takeoffs including earthwork, roads, drainage, and site prep.ย 
Collaborate with operations to support construction execution.ย 
Assist with development and verification of grading files.ย 
Assist with the development and verification of pile/equipment coordinateย 
files.ย 
Support surveying, staking layouts, and site setup.ย 
Provide technical guidance to field crewsย 
Travel to site to support and coordinate with project and construction teams forย 
successful project execution.ย 
Foster key strategic relationships with various partners.ย 
Ongoing integration and gain of technical knowledge to further establish self as aย 
reliable source of information to the engineering team.ย 
Manage project files, drawings, documents & records across multiple projects at aย 
time.ย 
Identify challenges and work with Quality and SMEs to resolve issues andย

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • 3-5 years' experience in Civil Engineering or civil construction execution. To include experience in proper design and constructability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software - AutoCAD, Civil 3D, similar.
  • Knowledge of applicable civil practices - materials, SWPPP, Geotech, grading files, surveying.
  • Must be self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in KE business strategies
  • Have entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and be accountable for project decisions and actions.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
