Overview

Ready to drive financial accuracy and project success? As a Project Engineer, you will track and analyze cost data, ensuring our projects stay on budget. Your expertise in resource monitoring and control, combined with your construction knowledge, will keep our projects running smoothly and efficiently.

FlatironDragados and Herzog are partnering to build the $422M Franconia-Springfield Bypass. This rail-bridge will allow passenger trains to crossover the freight tracks in order to serve stations on the opposite side of the rail corridor. Once completed, this bridge will reduce congestion for both freight and passenger trains.

What you will be doing
  • Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources.
  • Review all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
  • Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
  • Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance. 
  • Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting. 
  • Prepare and manage a three-week work plan. Notifies engineering and project management of any significant schedule changes and develops solutions to mitigate delays and cost.
  • Initiate and manage all Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Remit accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to ensure project financials are accurately reported.
  • Manage invoicing with accounting team regarding materials, equipment and subcontractor needs.
  • Review certificates and permits needed to perform work. 
  • Review required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliance work environment for all construction personnel. 
  • Coordinates subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years construction engineering experience.
  • Experience in resource monitoring techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems and/or structures preferred.
  • Able to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
  • Knowledge of design build and other alternative build techniques.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods and cost coding.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management preferred.
