The Project Engineer acts as the primary customer contact, ensures technical and commercial alignment with contracts and codes, and drives cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Own multiple projects simultaneously from sales handoff through project closeout, ensuring successful delivery of structural support systems, containment systems, and ceiling projects for data center clients.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, track milestones, and drive deliverables across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and shipping.
  • Anticipate project risks, resource constraints, and customer needs before they become execution issues, and escalate concerns early when necessary.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project execution, providing clear and timely communication.
  • Lead customer meetings to review project status, technical submittals, and changes, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and project scope.
  • Manage submittal cycles, including preparation, coordination, customer review, and comment resolution, to keep projects moving efficiently.

  • Monitor project scope against the contract and identify changes, additional deliverables, and customer-directed revisions.
  • Support the identification, documentation, and submission of Change Orders, ensuring that all work outside the original scope is clearly defined.
  • Ensure that any work beyond the original scope is documented and commercially covered before execution begins.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics using influence, clear communication, and follow-through rather than formal authority.
  • Create accountability within cross-functional teams by setting clear expectations, assigning owners to tasks, and following up until all items are closed.
  • Maintain disciplined project documentation, including approvals, revisions, RFIs, comments, and decisions, to support both project execution and the company’s commercial position.
  • Review and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility.
  • Verify that project deliverables align with applicable building codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering activities and technical submittals to ensure timely review, approval, and release for fabrication.
  • Align procurement activities with project schedules and fabrication needs to support on-time delivery.
  • Oversee fabrication release and delivery logistics to ensure that materials and systems arrive as planned and meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with a Senior Project Manager and the broader project management team to ensure consistent project delivery practices.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in project management, preferably managing capital expenditure (CapEx) projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects or coordinating cross-functional deliverables.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of relevant United States building codes and standards.
  • Ability to develop and maintain project schedules and track milestones across multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills to serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to anticipate project risks and resource constraints and escalate issues early.
  • Skill in documenting and managing changes to scope and supporting Change Order processes.
  • Capability to lead cross-functional coordination without formal authority, using influence and follow-through.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience delivering projects for data center clients or similar technically complex facilities.
  • Background in manufacturing environments, particularly where engineering, fabrication, and logistics are closely integrated.
  • Experience with structural support systems, containment systems, or ceiling systems.
  • Familiarity with managing technical submittals, customer review cycles, and comment resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining project documentation such as approvals, revisions, RFIs, and decisions.
  • Ability to build trust with customers through transparency, responsiveness, and consistent execution.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of contractual scope, changes, and documentation requirements.

The Project Engineer works closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to coordinate project execution from the factory floor to delivery at customer sites.
