The Role
The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in achieving the project's financial and schedule goals through effective management resulting in the delivery of a quality product to a satisfied customer. This success includes, but is not limited to, providing a safe work environment and ensuring the company is subjected to minimum risk. Project Engineers assist in a hands-on, team-focused environment in all aspects of projects from startup through closeout.
What you will accomplish
  • Assists with subcontractors and subcontracts as needed in areas such as; scope review, internal requests, change orders, buyout and communication.
  • Manages the billing process in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Assist the superintendent as needed with items such as assembling RFI's, research, supervise subcontractors and permits.
  • Coordinates and assembles project close out documents; warranty/operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Manages all document control of RFI's submittals, procurement, subcontractor change orders, correspondence, permits, drawings, specs, punch lists, as-builts, and reports in a systematic and traceable manner.
  • Manages request from client, subcontractors or superintendents such as; warranty work requests, drawing reading and transmittals.
  • Active member of budget process (works with project manager to manage and adjust project budgets and prepares the necessary budget paperwork for the monthly budget meetings).
  • Coordinates with accounting in regards to initiating a job set-up by pulling a job number, filling out the owner checklists, ensure that the subcontractors are pre-qualified, and setting up the budget & prime contract in Procore.
  • Assist in preparing owner checklists, submittal and coordination with accounting.
  • Attends job walks (Pre-construction owner, Pre-bid subcontractor, and Project Progress).

What we would like you to have
  • BS or MS in Construction Engineering preferred OR a BS in Engineering with relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of construction engineering experience.
  • Mechanical experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in construction software (Procore preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
