Job description

This position is located in a National Park Service Unit. The primary purpose of the position is to perform building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties. Incumbent utilizes journeyman knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts. All of the duties described by this position may not exist in each location, but that should not preclude use of this position.Qualifications:To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
  • Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT)
  • Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
  • Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.
  • Knowledge of materials
  • Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic)
  • Use of Measuring Instruments
  • Vehicle Operation

SCREEN OUTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Performed preservation, restoration or reconstruction work on historic and non-historic structures at the journeyman level. I have performed at least 5 of the following trades associated with maintenance work: roofing, painting, masonry, carpentry, wood crafting, timber framing, log work and plastering. I have supervised others performing this work and provide technical recommendations for methods, tools and materials used for the preservation, restoration or reconstruction of historic structures.
DRIVER'S LICENSE: This position requires that the incumbent possess a valid Driver's License.
