Join our Plymouth, MI team as a Stone Slab Handler Specialist!
Position Description
The Stone Slab Handler Specialist is responsible for the safe handling, transportation, and storage of stone slabs including stone, ceramic, and porcelain. This role requires the use of industrial lift equipment and attention to proper packaging, labeling, and delivery of materials. The position also involves occasional travel to other warehouses (up to 25%).
Essential Functions:
  • Safely load and unload stone slabs from carriers and delivery vehicles
  • Inspect slabs for damage and report discrepancies
  • Operate forklifts, slab lifters, and other material handling equipment
  • Use bar code scanners and inventory systems to track materials
  • Prepare slabs for shipment or delivery, ensuring proper packaging and labeling
  • Travel to customer sites or job locations to assist with slab handling
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and maintain accurate records
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve inventory or delivery issues
  • Learn product specifications and handling requirements for various stone types
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of slab handling experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials safely (up to 100+ lbs)
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
  • Familiarity with stone slab handling and packaging techniques
  • Basic computer and bar code scanner skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
