Maintenance Mechanic - JLL

What this job involves:

JLL is seeking an experiencedMaintenance Mechanicto supportFacilities Operations & Maintenanceat a federal government facility inLanham, Maryland. Working under the direction of the Lead Engineer and/or Project Manager, this role is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled maintenance and repair tasks to ensure building systems, equipment, and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position plays a key role in maintaining a highquality, compliant, and wellfunctioning facility environment.

This is afully onsiteposition supporting a missioncritical government operation.

What your daytoday will look like:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance inspections on building systems including motors, fans, pumps, plumbing, HVAC components, and basic electrical systems.

  • Diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently in accordance with SOPs and safety standards.

  • Repair, replace, and adjust building fixtures such as doors, hardware, lighting, ceiling and floor tiles, and restroom components.

  • Maintain and service custodial and maintenance equipment, including lubrication, belt replacement, and minor mechanical repairs.

  • Respond to maintenance requests, emergencies, and afterhours callbacks as needed.

  • Prepare inspection reports, complete work orders, and document maintenance activities.

  • Maintain cleanliness of mechanical spaces and work areas, and assist with inventory tracking and supply ordering.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in commercial building Operations & Maintenance.

  • Demonstrated handson experience in multiple skilled trades, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance.

  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety guidelines.

  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and responding to corrective maintenance issues.

  • Strong attention to safety, regulatory compliance, and quality workmanship.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-based, regulated environment.

  • Flexibility to work overtime, respond to callbacks, and provide coverage as operational needs require.

  • Must be a member of Steamfitters Local 602 union to be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supportingfederal or government facilities.

  • Familiarity with work order systems and maintenance documentation.

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation components.

  • Experience maintaining custodial or floor care equipment.

  • OSHA safety training or general safety compliance experience.

  • Strong communication and timemanagement skills.

  • Ability to perform light painting, drywall repair, and minor cosmetic repairs.

Location: Silver Spring, MD

Work Shift: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Must be available for overtime, callbacks, and coverage as needed.

Salary: $27.5

Estimated compensation for this position:

42.00 - 55.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
