Tile Project Manager information

What does a tile project manager do?

A Tile Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of tile installation projects in residential or commercial settings. They coordinate between clients, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. Responsibilities include scheduling, budgeting, site inspections, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a tile project manager?

To thrive as a Tile Project Manager, you need expertise in construction management, tile installation techniques, budgeting, and scheduling, usually supported by a relevant degree or significant industry experience. Familiarity with project management software (like Procore or Buildertrend), blueprint reading, and knowledge of safety regulations are typically required. Leadership, attention to detail, and effective communication skills set outstanding managers apart in coordinating teams and liaising with clients. These skills ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining client satisfaction.

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by tile project managers during large-scale installations?

Tile Project Managers often encounter challenges such as coordinating schedules between multiple subcontractors, ensuring material deliveries align with project timelines, and managing unexpected site conditions that can require design or installation adjustments. Effective communication, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving are essential to keep projects on track and maintain quality standards. Additionally, balancing client expectations with budget constraints is a frequent aspect of the role, requiring strong negotiation and planning skills.

  • Training & development

Bath Tune-Up is hiring a Bathroom Remodeler to support our lead installer with day-to-day remodel execution. If you are skilled with your hands, eager to learn installation processes, and want consistent work inside a professional remodeling company-not side jobs or inconsistent projects-this role fits.
You will work closely with our Lead Installer and Project Manager to deliver bathroom remodels in well-maintained homes across Essex County and nearby communities.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Assist with project setup, demolition, debris removal, and site protection
  • Prep surfaces (cement board install, level prep, waterproof prep)
  • Assist with tile installation on walls, floors, and shower surrounds
  • Install fixtures (vanity, mirrors, shower trim, drain covers, etc.)
  • Help set pans, shower bases, and substrates
  • Assist with minor plumbing disconnects and finishing connections
  • Support layout work, measuring, and cutting materials
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site daily
  • Load and organize tools, materials, and job-site supplies
  • Report progress, delays, or issues to the Project Manager
  • Interact with homeowners professionally, when needed

This role offers hands-on training to advance into Lead Installer status.
What You Need to Bring
  • 1-2 years in construction or remodeling OR strong mechanical aptitude
  • Some experience with tiling, carpentry, drywall, or similar trade
  • Ability to use basic tools: drill, level, saws, cutters, tape measure
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs (tile boxes, vanities, shower pans)
  • Attention to detail, willingness to follow direction
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain job-site professionalism

Bonus Experience (Preferred but Not Required)
  • Tile installation experience
  • Waterproofing systems (Schluter, RedGard, cement board prep)
  • Basic plumbing (P-traps, shut-offs, drains, trim kits)
  • Electrical light or fan fixture swaps
  • Bathroom fixture installation

Candidates with specialty trade skills or experience on full remodels will move up fastest.
What Makes This Job Worth It
  • Stable, predictable work-not waiting week to week
  • Direct access to ownership and project leadership
  • A respectful job-site culture; no toxicity or chaos
  • Paid training on bath-specific systems

Compensation: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
