Job description

Maintenance Technician
Minerva, OH

Summitville Tile, a leading manufacturer of ceramic and quarry tile products and now part of the General Shale and global Wienerberger family, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Minerva, Ohio manufacturing facility. Summitville Tile produces high-quality floor, wall, and quarry tile products for commercial and residential projects across North America.

This role requires ensuring the plant operates efficiently by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting production in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to downtime issues and restore equipment to operation

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, including greasing, cleaning, and inspections

  • Track and maintain belts, motors, and other production machinery components

  • Monitor all production departments and communicate daily with the maintenance supervisor regarding projects

  • Understand and work with basic pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and schematics

  • Perform on-the-job training until capable of independently managing all maintenance responsibilities

  • Work weekends or overtime as required

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • Basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and schematics

  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot production equipment

  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and excellent attendance

  • Team-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers

  • Willingness to work first shift and flexible schedule as needed
