Job description

Koniag Technology Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Network Administrator Tier 2 (Network Operations Center) to support KTS and our government customer. This is a remote opportunity, but 1 PM to 9 PM Mountain shift. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. The Tier 2 Network Administrator supports the Tier 3 Network team by assisting in the maintenance, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of network systems. This role is responsible for verifying configurations, managing vendor communications, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve network-related issues. The Tier 2 Network Administrator plays a key role in ensuring network reliability and performance while escalating complex issues to Tier 3 or Tier 4 staff as needed. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: * Assist in network assessments and documentation of requirements * Verify network hardware/software configurations against approved standards * Perform basic troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices * Monitor network performance and escalate anomalies to Tier 3 staff * Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve service issues * Maintain accurate records of network incidents, changes, and resolutions * Support user account administration and access control * Assist with client device setup and connectivity issues * Monitor system logs and report authentication or hardware anomalies * Apply routine security patches under guidance from Tier 3 staff * Utilize network monitoring tools to identify performance or security issues * Maintain clear and professional communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders Skills and Abilities: * Basic understanding of network protocols and troubleshooting techniques * Familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls) * Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate appropriately * Strong organizational and documentation skills * Exposure to network monitoring and ticketing systems * Interest in learning network automation and scripting Education and Experience: * Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Bachelor's) preferred * 2-3 years of experience in network support or administration * Exposure to regulated or secure environments is a plus * Entry-level certification (Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+) Security Requirement: * Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
