Job description

WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.
Reporting to the Head of Global Event Ticketing and Senior Manager of Event Ticketing Operations, the Global Ticketing Operations PE will assist in the coordination of the league's direct-to-consumer global event ticketing business. This role requires an analytical skillset, strong presentation skills, a collaborative mentality, and knowledge of the ticketing industry. The optimal candidate should have experience with or exposure to ticketing operations, including ticket systems, customer service, ticket pricing, and reporting.
This role will develop relationships with external business stakeholders, multiple ticketing providers, and NBA teams to assist with executing ticketing operations for the highest value media-driven NBA Events such as NBA All-Star, NBA Finals, and NBA Global Games; fan-first events such as NBA Experiences and NBA Crossover; and support of affiliate league events for the WNBA, NBA G League, NBA 2K League and USA Basketball. The optimal candidate will be a fast-paced high-impact executor with experience in ticketing while being fanatically dedicated to the experience of key constitutes.
The Ticket Operations PE will be involved in the action during our busiest season and help support the operations of live sales and ticket distribution. The role will contribute to event reporting, data analysis, and the management of our ticketing platforms (including Ticketmaster). This position will give unparalleled exposure to the day-to-day operations of a major sports league and equip you with valuable skills in ticketing, sales support, and event management.
Key Objectives:
  • Analyze and update weekly ticket sales and financial reports, providing valuable insights into league data.
  • Oversee suite ticketing for all events across All Star Weekend and NBA Draft, including inventory management, ticket distribution, sales, catering orders, venue diagrams and other special requests
  • Act as ticketing point person for ancillary events such as social functions and Crossover.
  • Support Ticket Revenue Contractor to reconcile weekly deposits related to ticket sales and final event settlements.
  • Manage and distribute ticket allotments to VIPs, sponsors, league guests, and other constituents ensuring top-tier customer service and communication.
  • Assist with onsite box office operations at a variety of events both domestically and internationally
  • Work with Ticketmaster products such as TM1 and Archtics, continuing to gain valuable experience with industry-leading tools.
  • Take on dynamic responsibilities as tasks evolve throughout the season, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in ticket systems or ticket operations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze and present data.
  • A keen interest in learning about sports operations, ticketing platforms, and event management.
  • Valid passport/ability to travel domestic and international.
  • Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and a passion for sports.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on diverse tasks with a can-do attitude.
