Join us at Goodwill Excel, where you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of young minds as a Full-Time Early Childhood Educator. Our innovative Kids Excel program offers free, temporary childcare for students at the Excel Center, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged seven weeks to twelve years. You'll ensure the safe and caring management of our little ones, applying the HighScope curriculum to create engaging learning experiences. Your efforts will support our adult learners, allowing them to focus on their education and personal growth.
At Goodwill Excel, you'll be part of a community committed to professional development and the well-being of both staff and students. You'll find a collaborative atmosphere where your input is valued, and your growth is prioritized. We offer competitive compensation and a schedule that provides a healthy work-life balance, with hours ranging from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and a shorter day on Friday. Compensation:

$14 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement engaging lesson plans using the HighScope curriculum to foster a love of learning.
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore and grow confidently.
  • Monitor and document children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
  • Facilitate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's experiences and achievements.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of children, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities for all learners.

Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in a childcare setting preferred.

  • Coursework/training in early childhood development preferred.

  • Child/infant CPR and first aid certified or willing to obtain.

  • Submit to the required annual TB screening.

  • Has working knowledge of computer programs to perform clerical tasks: Microsoft Outlook, Google Applications, Excel, Word, and web browsers.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

The Excel Center – Northern Indiana is a high-quality, free, public high school for adult learners 18 and older. We provide coursework toward completing the required credits for students to earn an Indiana Core 40 diploma (not a TASC/GED/HSE program). Our students benefit from a structured learning environment with direct/face-to-face instruction, an accelerated format, small classes, and individualized attention that meets the unique needs of adult learners. All students are assigned a life coach who provides academic and personal counseling to support students pursuing their goals. Our staff has a significant impact on the lives of students seeking a second chance to change their lives. The Excel Center also requires students to earn industry-recognized certificates and/or dual credit college courses. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative team to assist in this endeavor.
