Position Overview

Thrive Wellness Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide much-needed mental health services within a multicultural outpatient clinical setting in Richmond, Virginia. Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing for flexibility and convenience as you connect with clients through teletherapy sessions. Our community health clinic setting focuses on accessibility and affordability, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to seek the mental health support they deserve. While our primary operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, some flexibility in scheduling may be required to meet the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand the unique challenges faced by each patient and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, adjusting approaches to align with the cultural and personal backgrounds of clients.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to effectively address mental health concerns, enhance resilience, and promote overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, utilizing strong assessment skills to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Educate clients and their families about various mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources, empowering them to navigate their mental health journey.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of therapy sessions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Actively engage in team meetings, case conferences, and cultural competency training sessions to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Stay informed on current best practices, research, and relevant cultural factors associated with mental health therapies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice is dedicated to serving a broad spectrum of clients from various cultural and social backgrounds. You will work closely with individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and more. Your skills in culturally responsive therapy will be pivotal in delivering effective and impactful care to our diverse patient population.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Must hold a current, valid license such as LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Virginia.
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment approaches, and cultural sensitivity in therapeutic practice.
  • Proven history of effectively providing individual and group therapy utilizing inclusive methodologies.
  • Strong crisis intervention capabilities and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
  • Commitment to ethical practices, professional boundaries, and maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team hybrid model.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a community health setting or providing services to underserved populations.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
