Job description

Summary of Job Duties:ย 

Responsibility for this position include, assisting with the following processes: set-up, bottle filling, cotton and desiccant insertion, and capping, labeling, and packing of filled bottles.

Adheres to all food safety and food quality guidelines, and cGMP requirements per NSF and FDA. Completes all documentation required for batch processing according to good documentation practices. Prepares disinfectants and performs sanitation/cleaning activities per procedures, and follows appropriate gowning, cGMP, and safety guidelines.ย 

Specific Job Duties:

  1. Assist with plant sanitation, includes sweeping, washing, emptying waste containers, including shutdown clean up.
  2. Operate packaging equipment (e.g.: TC3 and Fairchild tablet counter/fillers, cotton and desiccant insertion equipment, bottle cappers and CVC labelers) used in the packaging of dietary supplements.
  3. Meet all safety expectations including wearing the required personnel protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safe practices.
  4. Complete all documentation required for packaging in a cGMP compliant manner, including: Packaging batch records (Travelers), box labels, room and equipment cleaning logbooks, and in-process documentation.
  5. Work in a team environment and assist others as required.
  6. Cleans all equipment using current sanitation practices.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
  8. Must be able to follow instructions, including standard packaging procedures and processes.
  9. Works within and around the plant to assist in the packaging of dietary supplements.
  10. Works on a production line, following all standard operating procedures (SOP) for set-up, cotton, capper, sleever, sanitation and other tasks as assigned.
  11. Complies with all Companies Policies, Procedures, GMPโ€™s, Code of Safe Practices and SOPโ€™s at all times.
  12. Responsible for general duties involving physical handling of product, materials, supplies and equipment.
  13. Take direction from the Pkg. Machine Operator I, Pkg. Machine Operator II and Team Lead/Tech, as required. Fill in for other positions as needed.

Perform all other duties as assigned by Threshold management

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  1. 0-1 year of experience working with equipment or in a packaging environment, or equivalent.
  2. Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making.
  3. Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs.
  4. Ability to work in an environment with exposure to noise and heavy equipment in a packaging environment.
  5. Ability to read and write legibly in English.
  6. Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules including weekends and overtime.
  7. Basic math skills.

Skills and/or Training Desired:

  1. High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent, preferred.
  2. Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) a plus.
  3. Basic understanding of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred.
  4. Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  5. Good decision-making skills.
  6. Communicate effectively verbally and in written documents.
  7. Good time management.
