Job Description

Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center is inviting applications for an agricultural station farm and grounds technician, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This individual will aid in maintenance of the gardens, research and demonstration areas, and general grounds at the Center. The incumbent will assist the grounds and facilities manager with agricultural and landscape maintenance, including, but not limited to, site preparation, planting, pest management, fertilization, irrigation, mowing, and harvest. Must obtain a Virginia Pesticide Applicators License within 150 days of employment start date.

Required Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

A 2 years minimum landscape, horticultural farm, greenhouse, or nursery experience or Associates degree in Horticulture, Turf, Agronomy, or related field. Experience with agricultural equipment for land preparation, irrigation systems, and landscape maintenance equipment. Experience operating forklifts to move equipment and supplies.
