Quality Assurance Inspector – Premium Threading & Gaging

Location: Houston, TX 77087
Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM
Pay: $26.00–$30.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Join a Growing Oil & Gas Manufacturing Team

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Inspector with a strong background in thread inspection, thread gaging, and premium oilfield connections.

This is NOT an NDT/material inspection position. We are specifically looking for candidates who have inspected finished API and premium threaded products using precision thread gauges and measuring equipment in an oilfield manufacturing environment.

If you have experience inspecting threaded connections, setting up thread gauges, verifying customer specifications, and ensuring premium threaded products meet quality standards, we'd love to speak with you.


What You'll Do
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of machined API and premium threaded products.
  • Inspect finished threaded connections to verify compliance with customer specifications.
  • Set up and use thread gauges, ring gauges, plug gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Verify thread dimensions, thread form, taper, stand-off, and other critical connection features.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and document inspection results.
  • Review engineering drawings, operation plans, and customer specifications before production.
  • Perform receiving inspections of incoming materials as required.
  • Verify all production documentation, routers, inspection reports, and job packets are complete.
  • Identify and report nonconforming threaded products.
  • Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality concerns.
  • Maintain calibration and proper care of inspection equipment and gauges.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain compliance with company quality standards.

Required QualificationsMust Have
  • Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting and gaging API and/or premium threaded oilfield connections
  • Minimum 2 years of premium thread inspection experience
  • Experience using:
    • Thread plug gauges
    • Thread ring gauges
    • Precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
  • Experience working in an OCTG or oilfield manufacturing environment
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Basic computer proficiency

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:

  • API threaded connections
  • Premium threaded connections
  • OCTG products
  • TenarisHydril
  • VAM
  • Hunting
  • Hydril
  • Grant Prideco
  • Other premium connection systems

Preferred Background

Candidates may have experience in:

  • Premium Thread Inspector
  • Threading Quality Inspector

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
