Job description

Pettit Staffing is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Machinist/ CNC Machinist to join our clients Swing Shift team. We are looking for a dependable, quality-focused machinist who takes pride in producing precision components while maintaining tight tolerances and high production standards.

Pay: $25-28+\hr DOE

Swing Shift, 2+ years Fabricator/Machinist/CNC setup experience required

This is a 90 day temporary to direct hire opportunity. There is a full comprehensive benefit which includes Medical/Dental/401k/PTO package upon direct hire. This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist who enjoys working independently, troubleshooting setups, and producing quality parts in a clean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
  • Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
  • Adjust machine offsets and tooling as needed
  • Monitor production runs for quality and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend improvements
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
  • Experience with HAAS, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Knowledge of precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances and maintain quality standards
  • Experience with setup and operation of CNC equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable attendance and positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or specialty alloys
  • CNC programming or editing experience
  • Experience with Mastercam or other CAM software
  • Manufacturing, aerospace, or precision-machining background
  • Inspection and quality-control experience
