Job description

Starting Wage: $21.29/hr.

Plus $2 Shift Premium

Job Objective

The B Operator needs run the plastic machines, help A Operators with setups, machine adjustments, and daily activities, while complying with safety, quality, and production schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Review work schedule to make sure of what jobs are to be started or completed.

- Sets up machine and checks mold, air and water lines, and other adjustments to minimize safety hazards and help achieve highest level of quality production possible. Assistance from the A operator may be needed at times.

- Test run first few pieces for quality check and make adjustments as required to achieve full production capacity as quickly as possible. An A Operator can assist as required.

- Monitors quality of parts regularly to minimize time-consuming sorting, or waste.

- Monitors production rates to see that they meet established standards.

- Notifies Process Engineer, Manufacturing Coordinator and/or Manufacturing Manager of recurring problems promptly.

- Keeps accurate time and job records.

- Provides information to the A operator about any equipment, tool, or running issue.

- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition using 5S principles to minimize safety hazards and lost time accidents.

- Follows established safety procedures and policies at all times.

- Maintains a good attendance record.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Responsible to perform his or her job functions in a manner that supports TriMark's mission, vision and values in order for the company to attain its strategic and growth goals.

Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

Skill to set up and operate plastic injection molding machines which can be learned on the job.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions or special instructions related to changes in procedures.

Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and give assistance to new personnel.

Ability to interpret manufacturing specifications (blueprints, process sheets, daily job cards, operating instructions, etc.) in a clear and concise manner.

Ability to stay positive with a good attitude and values Trimark’s Core Values.

To determine overall quality of finished plastic products. An A Operator can assist as required.

To operate forklift and other machinery in a safe manner.

Working Conditions

Must be available to work overtime and weekends as required to meet the company’s business demands.

Frequent exposure to the hazards of machine operation and also hot plastic material.  Some contact with oils, and lubricants necessary for the operation of the injection molding machines.  The work area is dry and the temperature is controlled.  The noise level does not exceed 95db.

Uniform safety practices consist of safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other devices as required.  This area requires normal or corrected vision, normal depth perception and peripheral vision of 180 degrees, and no color deficiency.
