Job description

Position Summary

At Digital Pioneers Academy (DPA), our 6th–8th Grade Humanities Teachers are more than instructors—they are culture-builders, innovators, and champions of scholar success.

In this role, you will ensure every DPA scholar meets—and exceeds—high academic and behavioral expectations within a community where every student feels known, loved, and respected. You will play a critical role in shaping both the intellectual and character development of our scholars, preparing them to thrive in college, careers, and an increasingly complex world.

DPA teachers believe deeply that all scholars can achieve at the highest levels. As a Humanities Teacher, you will bring this belief to life by delivering rigorous, inquiry-driven instruction that builds scholars’ ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage deeply with the world around them.

Our model is intentionally designed for impact. Through a semi-self-contained structure, you will partner closely with a STEM teacher to co-plan, problem-solve, and provide personalized, holistic support for your shared cohort—ensuring every scholar is seen, supported, and challenged across content areas.

At DPA, we operate as one team with one mission: to develop the next generation of innovators. Our teachers don’t just prepare students to navigate the digital world—they prepare them to shape and lead it.

What You’ll Do

Our middle school teachers are results-driven and relentlessly focused on improving outcomes for scholars—academically and beyond. You will:

  • Deliver rigorous, inquiry-based instruction rooted in logic, reasoning, and real-world relevance
  • Drive measurable academic gains by analyzing scholar work and data, then implementing high-impact instructional strategies
  • Build strong, authentic relationships with scholars and families to foster investment in both culture and achievement
  • Design and implement aligned curriculum and assessments that push scholars toward mastery
  • Continuously refine your practice using data to inform instruction and close learning gaps
  • Collaborate deeply with your STEM partner teacher to create consistent systems, structures, and supports for your cohort
  • Contribute to a high-performing team through curriculum development, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives
  • Serve as an advisor, mentoring a small group of scholars and supporting their academic and personal growth

Who You Are
  • A strong educator with at least 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in an urban public or charter school setting
  • A believer in high expectations and equitable outcomes for all students
  • A relationship-builder who connects authentically with scholars, families, and colleagues
  • A data-driven practitioner who uses evidence to improve instruction and outcomes
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment
  • A professional with strong judgment, integrity, and a deep commitment to DPA’s mission

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a strong record of achievement
  • Master’s degree preferred

What Sets DPA Teachers Apart

Our teachers are:

  • Mission-driven and results-oriented, with a relentless commitment to excellence
  • Collaborative leaders who contribute to a strong, aligned team culture
  • Flexible, resourceful, and solutions-oriented, especially in a growing school environment
  • Highly organized and execution-focused, able to manage multiple priorities with urgency and precision
  • Strong communicators, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable leveraging technology (G-Suite and other platforms) to enhance instruction and operations

Why Join Digital Pioneers Academy?

At DPA, you’ll join a team that is building something meaningful—and doing it together. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work alongside driven, collaborative educators and leaders
  • Have real ownership and impact on scholar outcomes
  • Grow your craft in a feedback-rich, high-expectations environment
  • Help shape a school model focused on innovation, equity, and excellence
