Design Release Engineer - Exterior Body Systems
Overview / Summary
We are seeking a Design Release Engineer to support the design and development of rocker molding systems. This role will focus on rocker molding design and release, with additional responsibility for body scope oversight across related components and systems.
This is a hybrid position requiring four days per week in the office, Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and development of rocker molding systems.
  • Design and release injection-molded plastic automotive system components.
  • Design and release rocker molding systems to meet applicable North American legal requirements.
  • Provide feedback during feasibility checkpoints.
  • Support exterior trim system requirements.
  • Coordinate body scope oversight across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Track program timing, part maturity, and issue resolution across the body system.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Understanding of how to design and release injection-molded plastic automotive system components.
  • Experience as a Design Release Engineer.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with exterior systems design and release.
  • Experience designing and releasing rocker molding systems.
  • Understanding of rocker molding and exterior trim system requirements.
  • Experience coordinating body scope oversight across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Experience tracking program timing, part maturity, and issue resolution across a body system.
