A therapy technician is a person assists patients during their physical therapy sessions. Also known as a physical therapy assistant, or PTA, they play an important role in the rehabilitation of patients that are dealing with debilitating injuries. They perform their job duties at hospitals, clinics, and skilled nursing facilities. Qualifications for a career as a therapy technician include an associate degree and certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE). Having strong communication skills is especially helpful when working with a challenging patient.
