Job description

Travel Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT).
Location: Zachary, Louisiana.
Company: Geaux Care Staffing.
Contract Length: PRN position only
Schedule: 12 hour shifts
Shift: Nights mostly.
Pay: Starting at $660/shift
Position Overview:
Geaux Care Staffing is seeking an experienced and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) for a PRN assignment in Zachary, Louisiana. This role requires a clinician skilled in providing respiratory care across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations within an acute care hospital environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience, proficiency with EPIC charting, and the ability to work independently in high-acuity settings.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer respiratory treatments and therapies.
  • Manage mechanical ventilation, including troubleshooting and weaning.
  • Assist with intubation and perform extubation procedures.
  • Perform airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
  • Collect and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs).
  • Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide critical respiratory support.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Set up and manage aerosol therapies and HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula).
  • Troubleshoot ventilator and high-pressure alarms.
  • Administer respiratory medications including:
    • Albuterol.
    • Atrovent.
    • Flovent.
    • Lidocaine.
    • Mucomyst.
    • Racemic Epinephrine.
    • Spiriva.
  • Monitor and assess patient respiratory status.
  • Accurately document patient care within EPIC.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Float within scope to meet facility needs.
  • Work weekends and some holidays as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
  • Active Louisiana Respiratory Therapy License.
  • CRT or RRT credential required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current NRP certification required.
  • Neonatal and Pediatric experience required.
  • EPIC charting experience required.
  • Trauma Level I, II, or III experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong respiratory assessment and treatment skills.
  • Expertise in mechanical ventilation management.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
