Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a Full-time Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

DOR Responsibilities:

The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and administration of the facility’s rehabilitation department. This role ensures delivery of high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered therapy services in accordance with federal and state regulations, professional standards, and company policies. The DOR will oversee daily operations, mentor clinical staff, manage productivity and budgets, and ensure documentation accuracy to support reimbursement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications Include:

  • A graduate of an approved Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology program

  • The candidate must be a NYS licensed therapist (OT, PT, or SLP)

  • Four or more years of experience, with two or more years of experience in a supervisory capacity in long-term care or sub-acute care setting preferred

  • Comprehension of multiple reimbursement systems including Medicare Part A, Medicaid CMI, Medicare Part B, HMO management

  • Proven leadership skills in the healthcare field

  • Demonstrate skills in staff management, strategic planning, budgeting and marketing

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to facility and rehabilitation functions as well as state and federal reimbursement for therapy and nursing services

  • Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)

  • Understanding Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regulatory of the therapy services at the state and federal level
